Re-Imagining Place, Under a Strawberry Moon

June 2013

Part of the Contemporary Art Museum's Open Studios, this semi-secret public event took place at the abandoned Clemens Mansion in partnership with Michael Allen of Preservation Research Office and Washington University.

Participants were invited to explore the Clemens grounds and building, learn about its history, and ruminate on their own personal relationship to the abandoned space. Under the full Strawberry Moon the group met for an evening of tea and strawberries, and created biodegradable art works in response to the intersection of their personal history and the history of the space. The biodegradable artworks were left to decorate the space as a gesture of curious love.
